§ 114.04. TAXICABS TO BE KEPT IN GOOD REPAIR, SANITARY CONDITION.

  • (A) Every taxicab shall be kept in as good state of repair and in as clean and sanitary condition as on the date of the issuance of its certificate of inspection. The traffic division of the Police Department may make additional and separate inspections of any licensed vehicle at any time during the term of the license.
    (B) If a taxicab is not in a good state of repair or is not being maintained in a clean and sanitary condition, the Inspector may order the operator to remove the vehicle from service until such conditions are corrected.
    (C) In the event that the vehicle is not immediately removed from service, the Chief of Police shall file a complaint in the city court, or other court of competent jurisdiction, for the revocation or suspension of the license of the operator of the taxicab business.
