§ 98.47. IMMEDIATE REPAIR OF DANGEROUS CONDITIONS.

  • Whenever any sidewalk, street, or alley in the city becomes out of repair, and the same is dangerous for persons to pass and repass on the same; or whenever there exists an excavation, hole, or depression on any lot or part of a lot, abutting on any sidewalk, street, or alley in the city, immediately adjoining such sidewalk, street, or alley, and the same is dangerous to persons traveling thereon, the city, by and through its Street Commissioner, may cause such repairs to be made, and such sidewalk, street, or alley to be properly safeguarded, as provided by §§ 98.30(A), 98.45, and 98.46, immediately, and the city shall have a lien on such lots, lot, or parts of lot, for the reimbursement to it of the costs of such improvements, which shall be enforced and collected as provided in this subchapter.
